Visual Art Summer Exploration

This immersive visual arts experience offers focused instruction in painting, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics to young, talented artists who are serious about their work. Each day, students dive into hands-on projects with a morning and afternoon session dedicated to one of these four disciplines, allowing for in-depth exploration and skill-building across mediums.

About the Program

Details

In addition to studio time, students receive individual feedback to help refine their techniques and express their unique artistic voices. The program includes a guided visit to the MFA Boston, where students can find inspiration from world-renowned collections, and culminates in a celebratory art showcase, where participants present their creations to family and friends.

Safety Disclaimer:
All students will receive training on handling materials safely, including printmaking inks, carving tools, and press, and also ceramics tools and equipment, and sensitive painting supplies. Our instructors will closely supervise each session, ensuring the proper use of equipment and protective gear to create a fun, creative, and safe learning environment.

Application

Deadline: March 1, 2025

Prospective students should submit a portfolio with 5–8 pieces showcasing their creativity, artistic skill, and originality. Works can be in any medium, including drawing, painting, sculpture, or mixed media. The portfolio should highlight a range of techniques and styles, showing both finished pieces and sketches or studies that reflect the artists’ interests and process.

Note: SlideRoom can only accept up to 5 files. In order to submit up to 8 works, some files may need to be combined.

Grechel Rosado

Grechel Rosado is a Latina printmaker and illustrator. Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico and growing up in Massachusetts, Grechel has lived most of her life in a juxtaposition between her Latin heritage and her American upbringing.

She is deeply inspired by the roots of her culture and how her lived experiences influence and informs her artwork. Although she mainly focuses in the mediums of printmaking, Grechel is constantly expanding upon her disciplines and researching ways to blur the boundaries between them.
