Walnut Hill is committed to advocating, promoting, and supporting diversity and inclusion in all areas of campus life. Our Diversity Committee works collaboratively with the entire community to encourage students, staff, and faculty to grow in their own understanding of diversity and inclusion. One of the ways in which the committee does this is by inviting special guests to campus for speaking or teaching events. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we hosted Dr. Anthony Trecek-King as a guest speaker for a special all-School Assembly.
Dr. Trecek-King currently serves as the President and Artistic Director of the award-winning Boston Children’s Chorus (BCC). As a conductor and clinician, he has earned international recognition working with choirs and orchestras throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Before joining the BCC, he was a Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the Artistic Director of the Nebraska Choral Arts Society, the state’s oldest and largest community choral organization. We look forward to hearing Dr. Trecek-Kings’s perspective on the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. Learn more about Diversity and Inclusion at Walnut Hill.
