Available as a day or residential program, our on campus Summer Youth Dance Intensive is specifically designed for serious male and female dancers, ages 10-14.
Each day students participate in ballet technique classes followed by a pre-pointe, pointe, or boys’ class. Students also receive daily enrichment classes that include variations, stretch, conditioning, jazz, modern, eurythmics and mime. In addition to the rigorous dance schedule, participants are also offered masterclass lectures and workshops from professional guest-faculty along with a number of peer relationship building activities.

Classes will vary depending on level and week

9:30am – 11:00am: Technique Class
11:15am – 12:00pm: Pointe/Pre-Pointe/Boys class
12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch Break
1:00pm - 1:45pm: Variations/Strength/Eurythmics
2:00pm – 3:00pm: Repertoire
4:00pm - 5:00pm: Jazz/Modern
5:00pm - 6:00pm: Dinner Break
6:00pm - 7:30pm: Evening workshop/Evening Activities

Admission into the SummerYouth Dance program is by audition only and open to any student age 10 to 14. In the interest of health and safety, we will not be conducting our traditional audition tour this winter.

Applicants can participate in a socially distanced in person audition on the Walnut Hill School for the Arts campus, Saturday, January 30 between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Pre-registration is required. Walk up registrations will not be allowed. All other applicants interested in auditioning may do so by submitting a video audition online.
