Class Description

Beginning with charcoal, then working towards graphite and eventually micron pens, students will learn various drawing skills.  This class is more focused on use of imagination than having the “perfect drawing”.  We will be looking at still life assemblages, landscapes, and doing some collage.

No prior skills are needed, and a willingness to try new things is highly preferred!

Class Description

The week will begin with some supplemental work in observational drawing skills in a variety of media.  Some work from reference photos in acrylics and watercolor, and finally some digital work to create a well rounded 2D design portfolio. Previous work can be reviewed and included, depending on the needs of each student. At the end of the week, we’ll take a look at Slideroom and Common App (a platform used by many colleges).

This class is for any high school student interested in attending an arts college or university.  If you need a full portfolio, or simply to work on some supporting materials, this is a great opportunity to have a sneak peek into how Walnut Hill prepares their graduates for going on to some of the top tier arts institutions.
