Director in Training Program

For High School Students

Our new Director in Training (D.I.T.) Program is designed for dedicated high school students who want to continue growing with CTA while gaining hands-on leadership and theater production experience. This program is open exclusively to returning CTA students who have previously participated in at least one CTA production.

The D.I.T. Program is a volunteer opportunity offered free of tuition. D.I.T. students do not perform in the production, but may occasionally fill in for absent actors during rehearsals to help scenes continue running smoothly.

D.I.T. students will be paired with one of our younger musical theater groups and will work alongside instructors throughout rehearsals. Participants will assist with activities such as running lines in breakout groups, helping with set changes, and contributing to creative projects involving costumes, props, and set design. D.I.T.s will also serve as backstage crew during performances, learning what it takes to support a successful production from behind the scenes.

This program is a great fit for students who still love being part of the CTA community, enjoy mentoring younger performers, and want to develop leadership skills while staying involved in theater.
