Theater

An Overview

The Theater Department at Walnut Hill offers a comprehensive program designed to engage passionate, dedicated, and curious young artists. Our approach is Stanislavsky-based and actor-centric. This intensive training of the mind, body, and voice develops an actor who communicates an honest, compelling story through the use of text, movement, and song. In addition to offering unparalleled actor training, the program fosters an appreciation of design and production through coursework and practical application. Faculty members cultivate a supportive culture and inspire students to engage in their craft with a seriousness of purpose. Through studio work, performance opportunities, and one-on-one coaching, student artists develop the professional skills and attitudes needed to excel in university or conservatory training.

"At the end of the day, being here is shaping me not only into a passionate actress, but a person I’m proud to be. I wouldn’t trade it for the world."

- Judy Nadel, Theater Student

Recent Productions

"My experience in the Theater Department has been the best challenge of my life. Every day I learn something new about myself, my art, and my peers. The amount of support and kindness we’re given is beautifully balanced with our teachers' push for us to grow and have success in the arts."

- Nathan Hardy, Theater Student

Where Can a Walnut Hill Education Take You?

Many of our graduates have gone on to act, direct, sing, write and more onstage and on film and television. Others have taken their creativity and applied it in non-arts fields and also found much success. View this year's matriculation list!
