Travis Doughty ‘18 was named one of three recipients of Speakeasy Stage Company’s Thomas Derrah Emerging Artist Award.

This month, we caught up with Eriel Indigo, a graduate of our Theater Department. Eriel spoke to us about her Walnut Hill experience, as well as the evolution of her career as a recording artist, a creative director, and an activist.

Grace Meredith ’17, who graduates this spring from Berklee College of Music, sings the vocal track of the title song for the new film The In Between starring Joey King, released in February on Paramount Plus.

Ben is currently living in Berlin, Germany, having recently accepted a full time position in the chorus of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.

William made his Metropolitan Opera debut earlier this year, playing the Jailer in Puccini's Tosca.

This month, we caught up with Nicole Hayashi, a 2013 alum of the Dance Department who has explored several different career paths in the nine years since she graduated from Walnut Hill. Nicole currently works for AARMY, a fitness studio, and filled us in on how this new career has transformed her life.

Emily recently appeared on the PBS series Now Hear This, playing second violin in an episode exploring the music of Beethoven.

Nicholas was recently announced as the choreographer for Children of Eden, which is due to open in Fall 2022 at the Arcada Theatre in Chicago.

Samantha has several exciting productions coming up this season, including Cinderella at the Met and Cosi Fan Tutte at the San Diego Opera.

Carolyn Sproule '06 and William Guanbo Su '13 recently finished a production of Carmen at the Houston Grand Opera. Carolyn appeared in the role of Carmen, and William in the role of Zuniga.

Ninety years ago, in 1931, Elizabeth “Betty” Imbrie graduated from Walnut Hill and went off to Wells College in New York. That same year, the Dust Bowl began, the Empire State Building opened, “The Star-Spangled Banner” became America’s national anthem, and Thomas Edison submitted his final patent application.

William was recently on the cover of Crescendo Magazine's late summer issue. The full piece is now available on Crescendo's website. 

Christian just released his latest standup special, Show Your Work, which was filmed in September 2020.

Chris plays Jake Tapper in the new FX series Impeachment: American Crime Story, which chronicles President Bill Clinton's White House scandal.

Alex was recently named Principal Bass at the Israel Philharmonic. He is slated to join this month.

Wendy and SooJin, who were also classmates at Juilliard, reunited in Berlin this summer to play together.

Conor will play Christian in the upcoming North American tour of Moulin Rouge. The tour kicks off on February 26 in Chicago, at the Nederlander Theater.

This month, we connected with Lindsay McAuliffe, a graduate of our Theater Department, to catch up on her life and career after her Walnut Hill graduation in 2015. We also heard about her recent work with the Psych Drama Company, where she recorded two audio dramas: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (as Mae) and Macbeth (as a Witch). Both shows are streaming now—tickets are available on the Psych website.

Peter, along with Tara Rubin, won two awards this year from the Casting Society of America.

Heidi, who spent a year at Walnut Hill as part of the Class of 2019, plays Haley Gulick in the new movie Candyman.

The world premiere of Catherine's video poem, These Old Bones, occurred this summer at Long Island International Film Expo.

Congratulations to pianist William Youn on the recent release of his album, Schubert Piano Sonatas II. The album is available on Apple Music, among other outlets.

This past spring, 10 students at Ringling College of Art + Design, including our own Kippy Sage, had the opportunity to work with the Smithsonian American Art Museum to create comics for the Drawn to Art: Ten Tales of Inspiring Women Artists series. Kippy illustrated a comic about Maria Oakey Dewing titled "A Garden-Thirsty Soul." We caught up with Kippy to chat about this exciting project, in addition to her college experience and her artistic life.

Susanna was chosen as the 2021 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Western Regional Teacher of the Year and is one of 9 teachers of the year for the state of North Carolina. This follows her selection as 2020 district teacher of the year for Asheville City Schools. She has taught in the district for 5 years. Her daughter Isabel is finishing up kindergarten at the same school this year!

Jovanna shared with us that she has an upcoming recurring role in a new Disney Series. She has also been doing a lot of writing during the pandemic, and is currently shopping a feature film and hour-long drama.

Terry continues to work past retirement as a home health aide, plays bluegrass & Celtic music in her band, Ragged Blue, and serves on the Deerfield River Watershed Association Board of Directors and Greenfield Farmers' Market Steering Committee. She maintains a steady interest in the health of our planet and justice for the diversity of its peoples. Starting in late April she will take part in Al Gore's Climate Reality Leadership Corps training.

Jacqui plays Elyse in All About Sex, an original dark comedy feature film from writer and director Dakota Gorman.

Simone, known professionally as Salyse, released a new single, "Babygirl."

Trudi is the Director of Volunteer Ministry at a Franciscan church in Hartford, CT, and proudly reported that they logged more than 50,000 hours in 2019. Recently, she has been teaching her husband to play the flute.

Dana is currently a PhD student in Social-Cultural Anthropology at Indiana University Bloomington, studying dance and community building, in addition to her role of Executive Director for Movement Exchange, a nonprofit.

Colin is a Doctoral Fellow at Juilliard and is the Associate Organist at Cathedral of the Incarnation on Long Island. He is represented by Karen McFarlane Artists Inc.

Kacie is getting a Ph.D. at Harvard in Health Policy, researching how various social policies—for example, housing and education—impact the health of populations.

Isabelle Fama is currently studying public relations and French at Boston University, and is a member of the BU dance team.
