2025 MLK Jr. Day Speaker: Dr. Karl Reid
Earlier this week, our School was honored to welcome Dr. Karl Reid as our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day assembly speaker during our final assembly of January Term!
Dr. Reid is the inaugural Vice President for Equity and Inclusion at MIT, where he leads the Institute’s Community and Equity Office. Prior to this role, he served as the Senior Vice Provost and Chief Inclusion Officer at Northeastern University, and held the title of Professor of Practice in the Graduate School of Education. Dr. Reid came to Northeastern from the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), where he served as Executive Director and co-founder of the NSF-funded 50k Coalition, a national effort designed to increase the representation of women and BIPOC students in engineering.
It was an honor to have Dr. Reid speak to our community and connect one-on-one with students after his presentation. Thank you, Dr. Reid, for your visit!
