Walnut Hill School for the Arts

Walnut Hill is excited to welcome Aisha Fukushima, a world-renowned performance lecturer, Justice Strategist, Singer/Songwriter, and RAPtivist (rap activist) as this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day Assembly Speaker. Ms. Fukushima founded RAPtivism, a hip hop project spanning 20 countries and four continents, amplifying universal efforts for freedom and justice.

Ms. Fukushima will combine the art of performance and lecture. She will speak on the topic Activating Change: From Public Speaking to RAPtivism. Themes will include Rap activism, empowerment, using art as a vehicle for social change, and the connection to the way MLK used his voice and the way we can all use our voices.
