Announcing Our 2021 Black History Month Speakers
February 11, 2021
Walnut Hill is thrilled to welcome special guests Davron Monroe and Yewande Odetoyinbo as our celebratory Black History Month speakers on Wednesday, February 17. Monroe and Odetoyinbo are Boston-based award-winning performers. Some of the shows they have collectively performed in are: The Wiz; Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Little Shop of Horrors (Lyric Stage Co.); Sweeney Todd; and In the Heights (Wheelock Family Theatre). Together, they performed in Breath and Imagination: The Story of Roland Hayes, a musical tale of faith, hope, and family that tells the remarkable and inspiring story of Roland Hayes one of America’s earliest African-American artists to break color barriers in the performance of classical repertoire.
In their presentation at Walnut Hill, Davron Monroe and Yewande Odetoyinbo will perform selections from their repertoire and speak on a variety of topics related to Black History in the arts. We cannot wait to hear them speak to the Walnut Hill community!
