Walnut Hill commemorated the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a stirring assembly address by Sekou Laidlow. A classically trained actor and ordained Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, he has previously portrayed Dr. King in the theatrical production of The Mountaintop. Sekou has performed in major American repertory theaters, on and off-Broadway, and has appeared as a guest star and in recurring roles on television.

In addition to reciting MLK’s speech “What is Your Life’s Blueprint?” Sekou Laidlow challenged our community to think about how the teachings of Dr. King influenced our lives and the lives of those around us.
