Reopening Plan 2020–21
June 25, 2020
Dear Members of the Walnut Hill Community,
Today, I am writing to share more information about our program for the fall, and the rest of the 2020-21 academic year.
As we work to resume in-person activities at Walnut Hill, we are committed to creating an arts, academic, and residential experience that provides for the health and safety of our community as our top priority. Though our planning is not fully complete, the overall structure for the year ahead is coming into focus, and we are presenting two different options for families in the upcoming school year. You will find the details of those options here.
Additionally, we know this will be a lot of information to digest. We welcome you to join us for a Community Town Hall on Tuesday, June 30 from 8:00–9:00pm EDT via Zoom hosted by Director of Academic Studies Ben Gregg, Director of Artistic Studies Nicola Conraths, Dean of Students Melissa Cassel and myself. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to ask any questions you have. Please submit your questions in advance.
We hope this information is helpful as you prepare for the upcoming school year. Although the upheaval of the past months has been challenging, it has offered us an exciting opportunity to innovate on a bigger scale. We’re excited by all the fall will bring for Walnut Hill and, if our record high enrollment numbers are any indication, so are all of you. Thank you, once again, for the incredible flexibility, perseverance, and care for others that you have shown as members (or incoming members!) of the Walnut Hill community. We look forward to seeing you again, back on the Hill, just as soon as possible.
Non nobis solum.
Antonio Viva, Head of School
