Charlotte Sun '23 & Flora Sun '19 Win Film Festival Prize

Siblings and fellow Walnut Hill alumni Lingtong Charlotte Sun '23 and Longfei Flora Sun '19 were recently recognized by the 4th Asia International Youth Festival for their collaboration on "Our Lines", a hand-drawn animated film created by Charlotte with music composed by Flora. The festival, held in Macau, China, awarded the film its Best Animation/Golden Orchid Award. The film, which was inspired by one of Charlotte's closest friendships during her time at Walnut Hill, also recently won the Best Student Animation/Diamond Globe Award at the 2024 International New York Film Festival.

Another of Charlotte's hand-drawn animated films, "So I", also featuring music composed by Flora, has garnered several awards as well: Best Animation at the 2024 Experimental, Dance & Music Film Festival in Toronto, Canada; Official Selection at the 22nd Tirana International Film Festival in Tirana, Albania (an Academy Award Qualifying Festival); and Winner in the Music & Dance category at the Short Film Factory Festival in Romania.
