PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AT WALNUT HILL
Walnut Hill School for the Arts recognizes that professional development opportunities are valuable for their impact on students and the School, for creating community, for learning job-related skills, and for providing individual growth that contributes to the School's overall goals.
The continued professional and personal growth of the faculty and staff are central to the ongoing health and success of the program and of the school. Professional development funds are allocated with the goal of giving all faculty and staff the opportunity to learn and explore new approaches to their work and to refresh themselves as professionals.
The school values and encourages all faculty and staff to pursue professional development opportunities both inside and outside of school and to share their learnings with the Walnut Hill community. Faculty and staff returning from professional development activities, seminars, and meetings/conferences have given presentations, taught lessons, and run hands-on activities with colleagues in various formats during faculty and staff meetings.
School-wide professional development funds are available through the Professional Development Committee made up of a rotating group of faculty and staff members, as well as the Head of School, the Assistant Head of School, and the Artistic and Academic Directors.
