Yulhee Kim '97
Yulhee Kim majored in Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania, Parsons School of Design, and Walnut Hill School of Arts in the United States. Her diverse experience working in Beijing and Seoul since 2007 has allowed her to build relationships with many institutions, galleries, art fairs, collectors, and art patrons throughout Asia. She previously served as fair director for Korea’s first international fair, the Affordable Art Fair Seoul. She is also an advisor to government agencies such as KAMS on cultivating and further developing the art scene in Korea.
Jason Cheeseman-Meyer
Jason Cheeseman-Meyer is a painter, illustrator, and storyboard artist. A recipient of the Massachusetts Cultural Council Arts Fellowship Grant in Painting, his illustration work includes properties such as Transformers, Star Wars, Spiderman, and The Lord of the Rings, and he has worked as a storyboard artist for live action and 3D animation. His work has appeared on the BBC and other television stations, in Super Bowl commercials, on toy shelves all over the United States, and in many other outlets.
HaeSun Paik '83
HaeSun Paik is co-chair of the piano department at the New England Conservatory of Music (NEC) and also teaches Walnut Hill students. She is a recipient of the Korean National Academy of the Arts 2019 Music Award, the nation's highest honor for Korean musicians. She has won top prizes at international piano competitions and has recorded for EMI and Bridge Records. At age 14, Paik came to Walnut Hill from Korea, then earned her BM and MM degrees and an Artist Diploma from NEC, under the guidance of Russell Sherman and Wha Kyung Byun. The Walnut Hill tradition continued with HaeSun’s daughter Anna Choi ’21, an oboist, who attends Harvard University.
Kiha Ahn '23
Kiha Ahn is an interdisciplinary filmmaker investigating the intersection of arts and technology with an insatiable hunger for deep collaboration. Through his films, he explores memory, identity, and love. His film, "Pastel Slough", won the American Vision Award and received over 50 nominations and official selections. He has worked as a cinematographer and editor and served as Department Representative at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where he developed its first DEIJB initiatives. He is pursuing a BFA in Film & TV at New York University.
Soojin Lee '08
Soojin Lee holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and has worked as an interior designer, contributing to various architectural and design projects across multiple countries. During her studies at Walnut Hill and SAIC, she explored ceramics, a practice she has recently returned to with renewed focus. Her work in ceramics seeks to highlight the beauty of glazes as they transform through high-temperature firing, capturing their unique textures and depth of color. Through architecture, design, and ceramics, she continues to explore materiality and artistic expression in innovative ways.
Su Jin Park '10
Su Jin Park is a multidisciplinary creative based in Seoul with a background that spans digital consulting, UX design, and visual storytelling. Drawing from her experience working in both Korea and the United States, Su Jin explores the emotional and cultural nuances that shape design identities and user experiences. She is currently pursuing her own creative path through painting, writing, and personal branding, while maintaining a thoughtful voice that blends introspection with clarity. Her work often reflects themes of resilience, quiet strength, and the search for meaning in everyday life.
Jee Seon Kim '00
Jee Seon Kim is a painter and visual artist with a professional background in graphic design and fine arts. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design in the United States, following her studies at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. Her professional career spans diverse creative roles, including positions as a graphic designer and jewelry designer in New York, as well as Visual Design and Marketing Communications Manager at an architectural design firm in Seoul.
Her artwork has been featured in both domestic and international exhibitions, including the Korea International Art Fair (KIAF), Gana Insa Art Center, Hangaram Art Gallery, the 32nd Grand Art Exhibition of Korea at Gyeonghui Palace Museum of Art in Seoul, Busan International Art Fair (BIAF), and Riverside Gallery in New Jersey. She was also selected for the Korea National Art Exhibition. She continues to advance her artistic practice through a multidisciplinary approach, integrating painting and design to explore new creative possibilities.
Seungjoo Kim '14
Seungjoo Kim uses image-making as a way to observe and reframe the familiar. Her practice moves between the personal and the public, the intimate and the constructed—navigating a space where visuals evolve into stories. Working fluidly across commercial and artistic contexts, she aims to create moments that quietly linger.
