Walnut Hill Summer Youth Visual Art is a 2-week program offering instruction in a variety of 2-dimensional mediums: Drawing, Painting, and New Media (Photoshop in our Mac Lab). Young students with a passion for visual art will have the opportunity to learn and experiment with the fundamentals of composition, perspective and color theory. Students will engage in the exciting and fun techniques of making art in our fully equipped facility with our experienced faculty offering classes at a high artistic level and expectation.
In addition to sketching from direct observation, students will have the chance to do paintings and mixed-media drawings using images they first create in our media lab.
Students are encouraged to reach beyond self imposed limits and focus on the process of art. Surrounded by students of theater, dance and music, visual artists are able to experience Walnut Hill’s community firsthand and become a part of our highly creative environment.
