Raymonde has a Master of Arts in French Literature from Middlebury College.   She received a B.A. from the University of Regina with a Major in French, and subsequently completed a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon, SK, Canada).  Born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, Raymonde is of Acadian descent.  Her first teaching experience was with first graders at a French immersion school.  She has been teaching for over 20 years.

Before joining the faculty of Walnut Hill, Raymonde taught at the Park School, a progressive day school in Baltimore, where she was the class advisor to the class of 2008.  She taught for 13 years at the Lawrenceville School  in New Jersey, where in addition to teaching French, she was a dormitory parent in the senior girls’ dorm and coach of the girls’ squash team.  At Lawrenceville, Raymonde was named to the Lawson-Johnston Junior Faculty Chair in recognition of her teaching excellence.  In 2009, Raymonde was awarded the E.E. Ford Prize for Exceptional Merit by her peers at Walnut Hill.

Raymonde has chaperoned students in their studies and travels abroad many times, including a 10-week program in Angoulême, France, a spring break trip to Mexico and, most recently, Walnut Hill’s summer opera program in Italy.  Raymonde is an avid runner who has completed 9 marathons, including qualifying and running in the Boston Marathon twice.
