THE SCHOOL

Welcome Message

Dr. Joseph KeefeWe proudly welcome you to Walnut Hill. Since 1893, the School has been an educational leader. Today Walnut Hill is internationally recognized as one of the premier secondary schools for the arts in the world.

My involvement with Walnut Hill is not as a newcomer but as someone who for many years has served the school as a Trustee, planner, and contributor. I understand and appreciate Walnut Hill’s history as well as its plans for the future. I am pleased to work with a highly competent faculty, staff, and school administration in their efforts to meet the challenges set forth in our Long-Range Plan, Rising to the Challenge of Success.

As an independent, coeducational, boarding and day secondary school for the arts, the intensive training here focuses on five disciplines. These include ballet, music, theater, visual art, and writing & publishing coupled with a comprehensive and rigorous academic curriculum in all college-preparatory subjects.

First-time visitors to Walnut Hill are typically impressed by the unique educational opportunity that exists here. The School provides its students with the strongest artistic training possible in a diverse environment full of rich cultural, creative, and community values. We are united among all disciplines within the School by the strength of our mission: to educate talented, accomplished, and intellectually engaged young artists from all over the world. The School does so in a diverse, humane, and ethical community.

I encourage you to join this remarkable artistic family of dedicated and caring students, faculty, and staff.

Sincerely,

Dr. Joseph A. Keefe
