Welcome Message
Greetings! I am very pleased to welcome you to Walnut Hill. Founded in 1893, the School is an internationally recognized secondary school for the arts. We offer intensive arts training and rigorous academics in all college-preparatory subjects. We are passionate and outspoken, locally and internationally, about the value of an education in the arts.
Walnut Hill is a magical place. Everyone at Walnut Hill aims high—obstacles are intriguing events on the paths to our dreams; hard work in the arts is hard fun. As Mark Twain wrote: “When I look back at my first effort and compare it with my latest, it seems unbelievable that I have climbed so high.” Our faculty and staff invite you to climb with us, to become a valued member of our community of artists. We believe that Walnut Hill is the best of all possible worlds and getting better all the time!
I sincerely hope that you feel inspired to visit our campus, to attend a performance, view an exhibit, peruse a poem, or sit and soak in the array of sights, sounds, and people who may inspire you to sing, dance, write, see, or think slightly differently.
Warmly,
