Poem by Delgado ’11 Selected in Two National Contests
"Thursday," a poem by Evangeline Delgado of Bozeman, Montana, was awarded Honorable Mention in the 2010 Nancy Thorp Poetry Contest sponsored by the Department of English at Hollins University in Virginia. Two poems by Haeyeon Cho, the 2010 Elizabeth Bishop Prize Winner in Verse, join Evangeline’s on the Honorable Mention List and will appear on The Blue Pencil Online.
Evangeline's "Thursday" has also been named a finalist in the Poetry Society of America's annual Louise Louis/Emily F. Bourne Student Award for the best unpublished poem by a student in grades 9 through 12 from the United States.
