Invest in Excellence: Front & Center
Why a campaign?
Since the 1970s, when Walnut Hill’s mission officially shifted from an all-girls boarding school to a school for talented young artists, Walnut Hill’s student enrollment has more than doubled. This steady growth has put a strain on our physical spaces (especially the performance venues), endowment funds, and programmatic resources. The time has come to raise dedicated funding to address these challenges.
- 1. Improving Campus Facilities (Goal: $8.5 million)
- 2. Growing the Endowment (Goal: $3 million)
- 3. Supporting the Annual Fund (Goal: $3.5 million)
With an endowment of $16 million, Walnut Hill lags significantly behind our peer schools. A larger endowment will boost our financial aid budget, which provides need-based scholarship to 40% of our students. Growing the endowment will help cover the expenses that come with new buildings and support the excellence of our faculty and staff. A larger endowment will secure our financial position for generations to come.
Annual contributions help us close the gap between the cost of tuition and what it truly takes to educate our students. Annual support impacts nearly every corner of the campus and all of our programs. From recruiting and retaining phenomenal faculty to financial aid support to class field trips, annual fund dollars are the fuel that powers our everyday needs.
