The Blue Pencil

The Blue Pencil is a publication edited and produced by the Walnut Hill Writing, Film & Media Arts Department. Read the Spring 2016 issue below.

From 2008–2015 the department has also curated The Blue Pencil Online, a website dedicated to publishing the freshest, most accomplished examples of imaginary literary craft by young writers around the globe. With the program's evolution and inclusion of writing, film, and media arts, the decision was made to retire The Blue Pencil Online. In 2017 the WFMA Department will be building a new website that will showcase works of literature, film, video, and photography from both students in the program and across the world. Stay tuned for the formal launch and please direct any questions to Director of Writing, Film & Media Arts Margaret Funkhouser at mfunkhouser@walnuthillarts.org.

1917

2015

The year Walnut Hill's Creative Writing Department evolved to encompass film and media arts, offering classes in narrative and non-narrative film; cinematography; editing; sound; and film and digital photography.
