Where can a Walnut Hill education take you?
Writing, Film & Media Arts is a newly expanded major at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. The program’s focus on critical and creative thinking, artistic technique, and the collaborative process prepares students to excel in a wide variety of pursuits and experiences. Our graduates have gone on to pursue degrees at some of the world’s best liberal arts colleges and universities, film schools, BA and BFA programs.
During their time as students at Walnut Hill, creative writers and filmmakers have received awards and recognition for their work from an impressive roster of organizations and competitions, including All American High School Film Festival, Foyle Young Poets of the Year, Juniper Institute for Young Writers, Louise Louis/Emily F. Bourne Student Award from the Poetry Society of America, National YoungArts Foundation, New England Young Writers Conference at Breadloaf, Princeton Creative Arts and Humanities Symposium, Salem Film Festival Five-Minute High School Student Documentary Contest, Scholastic Writing Awards, Smith College Poetry Prize, United States Presidential Scholars Program, and Williston Film Festival Awards.
