Theater Audition Requirements
All students applying to the Theater Department must complete an audition to be evaluated by a member of the artistic faculty. Auditions generally occur between October and late January for students applying for the Priority deadline of January 15. Auditions after February 1 will be offered as space is available.
To schedule an audition, please contact the Admission Office at 508.650.5020 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicants are encouraged to make arrangements at least four weeks in advance.
Theater applicants must prepare one monologue and one song (not exceeding a total length of four minutes).
- Monologue must be memorized
- Monologue must be chosen from plays. Do not use poems or material from a one-person show. Pieces from monologue books are only acceptable if the monologue is from a published, full-length (one act or longer) play
- If selection is from a monologue book, be sure to read the entire play and understand the given circumstances of the monologue
- Try to choose a monologue in which you speak directly to one other person
